Static Electricity Measurement

Meters for electrostatics manufactured in the USA by AlphaLab, Inc.

Non-Contact measurement of voltage
on samples and surfaces:

Surface DC Voltmeter: $290

At 1", it reads +/- 29,999 volts in 1 volt steps, with user-settable alarm and fast peak hold. Besides voltage, this single meter can measure almost any static parameter, from ohms per square to ion balance.

Ultrastable Surface Voltmeter: $570

A "field mill" type non-contact voltmeter which measures with extreme sensitivity. Can measure 1/10 volt at 1" distance. Usable in an ionizing environment, it measures in two ranges: +/-1999.9 and +/-19,999 volts with zero drift.

Static voltage measurement with contact:

 Voltage Touch Monitor: $560

Measures DC, transients (ESD) and AC on personnel. Reveals previously hidden problems (stray voltages) so they can be avoided. Measures up to 1999.9 volts.

Also available:

Custom high- impedance voltmeters  and monitors for process control-- up to 40 KV DC, AC, and ESD. Shown at left is a voltage monitor for powder coating systems.

Measurement of Air Ions, Discharge Effectiveness:

Air Ion Counter: $390

Measures the numbers both of positive and of negative ions per cubic cm in the air. Direct ion readings allow much faster determination of ion distribution and discharge time than is possible with a charge plate detector.

Measurement of High Resistance and Anti-Static Materials:

High Resistance Meter: $360

Measures resistance from 1 ohm up to 1999.9 G ohms (1.9999 T ohms) in 9 ranges, with at most only 2 volts applied across the sample. There is also a conductance setting with range 0.01 to 199.99 pico mhos. (0.01 pico mho corresponds to 100 T ohms).

Also available:

Custom resistance and conductance meters for up to 1017 ohms per square. Please enquire.

All meters are shipped ready-to-use, including battery. Prices are in US Dollars.
